- There will be strong growth in jobs in caring, leisure and other services
- There will continue to be a shift towards higher skilled occupations

In recent years the growth in the UK has been in IT, finance and business services, with greater employment opportunities in sport, leisure, social and personal services.
- These areas require skilled individuals with good communication
There will continue to be new technological advances which will transform industries and open up new opportunities and create new jobs which do not currently exist.

- Changes in the demographics with the population living longer, requiring more social care and health services
These predictions suggest there will be a need for scientists, engineers and technologists, creative individuals with good electronic communication skills, and those with caring and people skills. IT skills will become a necessity in all jobs.
