Quality in Careers Standard
Statutory guidance, updated by the government in April 2017, recommends that all schools and colleges should work towards this award.
YC Hertfordshire is the county sub-licence holder for Investor in Careers, a licensed awarding body for the national Quality in Careers Standard (QICS) award.
The award reflects national policies and will benefit your organisation by supporting the development of careers education and raising its profile in the wider curriculum including personal development learning, work related learning and enterprise learning.
In the current challenging climate, working towards this award will benefit young people because an effective quality careers curriculum will ensure the relevance of curriculum to life beyond school. It will increase levels of motivation, appropriate choice and minimise any negative impact on progression data.
YC Hertfordshire IAG Development Workers can provide support for learning providers to gain the award. This can include support with auditing current provision, planning, pre-assessment or a health check.
