Young people raise £300 for Asthma UK

03 November 2016

Social action minded young people from West Hyde were delighted to be able to hand over a cheque for £300 to Asthma UK after a summer spent fundraising for the charity.

Sarah Latchford accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity, which was chosen in support of their friend, Chloe, who suffers from the condition.

The young people, who all attend Hertfordshire County Council Youth Connexions youth projects, did a charity bag-pack at Tesco store in Rickmansworth to raise money for the charity and, in recognition of their efforts received a further £35 donation from Tesco towards purchasing ingredients for a coffee and cake sale – the next part of their fundraising campaign.

Chloe and her friends then set about baking cakes and held a cake sale at West Hyde Youth Centre.

Youth Connexions youth projects take place at West Hyde Youth Centre every Monday and Friday evening during term time – plus additional days during school holidays – and are open to all young people aged 13-19 (up to 24 with a learning disability).
