Young people get on their bikes for film competition

17 October 2016

A short film called ‘Unskilful Wheels’ was produced by young people at the Hertfordshire County Council’s Youth Connexions Bushey Wheels Project.

The film was made as an entry into Elstree Film Design’s film and animation competition and features the youth project which teaches young people aged 13 to 19 about motorbike maintenance, safety and riding skills.

The young filmmakers gained valuable experience planning and producing a film that they could be proud of. Roshni, one of the young people who made the film, said: “I’ve always been interested in drama, and the film itself was really fun to be involved with. It’s definitely something I would do again!”

Adem, who also took part in the film, said: “When coming up for the idea of our film I grabbed the nearest thing next to me. That item was the plastic bike that is seen in the film, and when I saw it, I tried to find a way to make a story connecting the small plastic bike with the big motorbikes I had ridden before, but with an added twist.”

The film is now available to watch on the Channel Mogo YouTube channel
