Lights, camera, action for young film makers in Watford

13 February 2017

Young film makers who attend the Watford Film Project at Youth Connexions Hertfordshire’s YouthPoint Centre for Young People attended a festival at Watford Palace Theatre last month.

The Watford Young Film Makers Festival saw 200 young people from the Borough enjoy an evening of watching films made by their peers, and also had the opportunity to take part in workshops and find out about potential careers in the film making industry.

14-year-old Yasmin attends the project at YouthPoint and enjoyed the festival, particularly the workshops which explored camera work.

The project wants to recruit new members and is currently exploring which films they would like to make next. The facilities in YouthPoint include a state of the art green screen, recording studio and editing rooms. The films they have made in the past have focused on issues such as stress awareness, bullying, phone addiction and healthy living.
