Help us celebrate 60 years of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award!

24 July 2015

We are planning ahead for a celebration next year and are keen to hear from people who have been involved with the DofE in Hertfordshire at any time in the last 60 years.

2016 will mark the 60th anniversary of the DofE, which has been giving young people the chance to take part in a range of challenging activities whilst developing their skills and making a positive contribution to their communities.

As the licensed organisation for delivery of DofE in Hertfordshire, Youth Connexions is continuing that long tradition. Last year well over 5000 young people took part in DofE in schools, youth projects and colleges. Many of them achieved their Gold Award and had it presented to them by HRH Prince Philip. Congratulations to all of them!

The number of young people taking part in 2016 is on target to be significantly higher. We would like to say an enormous thank you to all the adult volunteers who help with programmes and make it possible.

Have you been involved in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award?

Did you achieve your Gold award?  Or your Bronze or Silver? Did you take part but never get round to quite finishing? Were you involved in supporting young people with their programmes? Have you got any DofE stories or photographs?

We would love to hear from you!
