Could you be eligible for a funding grant?
12 February 2016
Hertfordshire Educational Foundation (HEF) is a small registered charity that provides support for young people with a home address within the boundaries of Hertfordshire. The HEF is inviting applications for the Sir George Burns Fund and Travel Scholarships.
Funding from the Hertfordshire Educational Foundation helped the Under 19 GB boys rafting team (pictured) secure a gold and silver medal at the 2015 World Championships in Indonesia.
For 65 years, the foundation has continued to support a wide range of educational activities for young people to help them fulfil their potential. Whether it’s white-water rafting, volunteering activities and community-based projects abroad for GAP year students or primary school trips, funding is available. Applications from young people who may be underprivileged or disabled are welcomed.
The Sir George Burns Fund supports young people between the ages of 16-21 years who have a disability or are underprivileged and Travel Scholarships enable students between the ages of 17 and 21 to undertake approved interesting courses and other educational activities abroad, particularly where there is a benefit to the community they are visiting.
The HEF Grants Committee meets three times a year. The next meeting will take place on 24 May 2016 and the closing date for applications is Tuesday 17 May 2016.
