Herts1125 is a group of young people who represent the views and opinions of those aged 11–25 who live, work or are educated in the county.
In 2011 Hertfordshire's Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) thought that young people in the county needed a bigger voice and that non-elected young people needed a way to be heard. The result of this was the creation of Herts1125, a group that could be joined by any young people between the ages of 11 and 25 who live, work or are educated in the county.
Each year, young people across Herts vote on the issues that they think are most important to them. The top five issues form the basis of the Hertfordshire Young People's Manifesto and each year the Manifesto is presented to members of Hertfordshire County Council. Herts1125 has forged links with various county councillors, district councillors, the Police and Crime Commissioner and other important decision makers to ensure young people’s voices are listened to.
