Mobile Provision
The Youth Connexions Mobile Provision (the "Body Stop" bus) is a great youth work resource. It can be used for group work on detached sessions, enable small projects to extend their provision and gives a defined space to deliver curriculum based programmes eg C-Card to young people who have limited access to the scheme.
It is ideally suited to deliver fixed term projects in communities which have no suitable venue, to complement, detached sessions outreach work and to promote the work which Youth Connexions delivers at events. It is brightly decorated and instantly recognisable.
The Mobile Provision has recently undergone refurbishment and can be used as an adaptable mobile workspace or youth project. Use is free for Youth Connexions.
The Mobile Provision is equipped with the basic tools which may be needed to deliver youth work sessions such as paper, pencils, pens, info file, flip-chart, whiteboard and tables that can be erected. It is equipped with a DVD player and large flat screen TV at the back of the bus which can be connected to a computer. There is also a Wii, a variety of games and some basic sports equipment which can be utilised. Workers need to bring with them all specific equipment and resources required for the session.
There is disabled access with a wheelchair ramp available.
