Educational Choices - Key Stages 3/4

In years 8/9 your son or daughter will need to start thinking about the subjects they would like to study in years 10/11.

Starting to find out about the types of careers and courses in which they might be interested in the future, can help them in making relevant choices at this stage, whilst still keeping their options open.

To support your son or daughter you may find the following sources of information useful...

Websites

Channel Mogo -  local website for young people with information about education, traning, jobs and careers.

Software

Many schools in Hertfordshire hold licences for software programs which young people can use both in school, and online at home (with licence passwords) to help them find out more about careers in which they might be interested.

To use this software online at home, your son/daughter will need to find out their school's licence code.

The programs available are...

Kudos

This software program can help young people plan their career by answering questions about their likes and dislikes to create a list of job suggestions.  They can then look at information about the careers they are interested in.
