What is Youth Connexions?
Youth Connexions Hertfordshire is a service for young people which aims to provide information and advice, guidance and support, and personal development opportunities for all 13-19 year olds (up to 25 years for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities).
Youth Connexions Hertfordshire was launched on 10th April 2008. It was created from the combined resources of Connexions Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire Youth Service and the Hertfordshire Youth Inclusion Support Panel (YISP), and works with voluntary sector partner agencies to deliver positive outcomes for young people. Some of the key staff delivering services are Personal Advisers and Youth Workers who are professionally trained to provide the highest level of support.
The Information, Advice and Guidance element of the service continues to be provided under the name of Connexions, in line with the national service that has existed for some years.
The service has been developed in response to the Government's two key policy documents, Youth Matters and Youth Matters Next Steps. Youth Connexions Hertfordshire is based within and reports to the Hertfordshire Children's Trust Partnership.
