About this directory
This Alternative Provision Directory is exclusively for use by practitioners including teachers. This is because young people can only be accepted onto these courses by referral. This directory used to be hosted on the hertschoices website, which still hosts all information about post 16 courses where referral is not necessary - see hertschoices website
This Directory contains programmes for 14-16 year olds who require personalised learning opportunities outside of a school environment. All of the providers have a KS4 Alternative Provision Framework Agreement with Hertfordshire County Council (ID No. HCC07000487) until July 2011. HCC advises purchasers to use only the providers from this Directory as they have been assessed for health, safety and welfare of learners. Learners will need information, advice and guidance in order to match their needs to the programmes on offer.
All you need to do is search the directory using the criteria offered to the right. Should you need help contact: Martin Sipsma, 14-19 Strategy and Commissioning Team, Email: martin.sipsma@hertscc.gov.uk, Direct line: 01438 845053
- A purchased programme contract needs to be completed for all provision and returned to Mary Hurlstone, 14-19 Strategy Adviser.
- The Guidance Checklist provides information about the steps for a learner.
- The Individual Learner Agreement as an example of the documentation that should be completed to identify the learner's needs and track their progress.
